Box breathing and Moro reflex-Inspired breath and Core Strength Activity

Published almost 3 years ago • 1 min read

Hi Reader,

This month we have been reviewing benefits of breath for regulation.

There has been a huge positive response to the moro reflex-inspired breath activity:

Also I have been using the box breathing technique. I hope it helps you as you navigate this week.

Breathing techniques have been responsible for keeping soldiers alive when they have been ambushed on the field and for reducing blood pressure in the general population.

Hope you can use it on a regular basis or when you have a kid with a meltdown on your hands. More on breathing techniques to come.

(PS let me know if you cant see video links)*

Reminder: If you have not yet taken the free emotional regulation class you can sign up for a live version here. It will happen 7/18 1pm PST online.

(This will be a new and improved version of the class we held last month!)

PS thank you so much for those of you who answered the questionnaires with the Pokemon workout gift!!!

I am seeing some themes develop which I will try to keep in mind and communicate to future guest speakers.

*For any of you that missed the last email you can get the Pokemon workout after filling this 6 question form.

It is anonymous and takes less than 5 minutes.

At the end is a link to the reflex-inspired Pokemon work out game.

Get it by following the below links.

Hi Reader, I just did a goal check on a kid whose mom is noticing that her son in OT is maturing and instead of resorting to anger or physically harming his brother he is more likely to get her help. Another dad last week said things that would normally cause huge destructive meltdowns are no longer causing the same reaction. He said he can see his son start to get upset and then regain control much faster than before. If you are scratching your head with kids that lose control and take...
